CO2 Found to be Even More Important than Thought

http://www.enn.com/pollution/article/40800

Research is showing that CO2 (carbon dioxide) has a much larger effect on the Earth's temperatures than once perceived. Using a new model, scientists have discovered missing variables and have tested the data. It shows that our old model indicated a much smaller temperature increase. The new model also shows long term effects of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
This article almost seems a little scary. The implication that carbon dioxide has a much more profound effect on the Earth is very alarming. Maybe if this data gets to politicians, they will actually do something about it. At the same time, the article tells me that we still have a lot to learn about our environment and how it is effected by so many things. Scientists are constantly finding new data that shows correlations between things on Earth. With new studies like this, they might be able to predict many more future occurrences. This will definitely help the fight against climate change and will most likely inform more people about what they can do to help. This article also shows me that what we know about the environment today, could turn out to be much worse tomorrow. A lot of my thoughts on the emission of CO2 issue changed because of the apparent severity of the problem. We need to do what we can now to stop climate change because it is a major threat to our home, Earth.

  1. I agree with wilson. This article does seem a little "scary". This article explains that we need to do something now about the CO2 issue because according to this article, the atmosphere might be more affected than we thought. If we don't stop our excessive production of CO2 soon than it will be too late.
